Bajaj Auto is all set to launch its first ever 400cc bike in India by the end of November or early December 2016.
Now, what was showcased as the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 concept at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, was earlier rebranded as the Bajaj Kratos 400 in order to create a new brand for the touring segment to compete against Royal Enfield.
In another u-turn by the Pune-based bike manufacturer, Bajaj has yet again renamed the Bajaj Kratos 400 as the Bajaj Dominor 400.

The “Dominor” moniker means “To Dominate” in Spanish and Bajaj intends to dominate the sports cruising segment in India with the launch of the Bajaj Dominor 400.
Bajaj had earlier intended to name the bike as Kratos 400 but the name Kratos was already registered by another bike manufacturer and Bajaj was unable to copyright the name.
This change in name has now led to the bike launch being postponed by a couple of weeks.
Earlier we had confirmed reports that the bike will be launched in midnight November 2016.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 will be powered by a 373cc 4-valve liquid-cooled, fuel injected, single-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the KTM Duke 390.
This engine is capable of producing 34.5 BHP of maximum power while the torque figure is not known yet. The same engine produces 43.5 BHP of power and 35 Nm of torque on the Duke 390.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed transmission that will come equipped with a slipper clutch.
Features on the new Bajaj Dominar 400 include first in class LED headlights, dual speedometer, LED taillights, petal disc brakes on both ends, telescopic front suspension and a mono-shock at the rear while dual ABS will be optional.
The new Dominor 400 is expected to be priced in the range of INR 1.5 lakh to INR 1.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Bajaj Dominor 400 will compete against the Mahindra Mojo and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350.
